I can’t believe this is almost mid-April. The last 6 weeks I have been working on a book and you know how much I want to illustrate a book, so I worked my ass off on this project. As this is my first illustration book, it turned out there are a lot of things that I don’t know about book illustrations. So I went to do a short course online. Then I realised that there are even more things that I don’t know. So I work through it. During the creative process and the feedback from the clients, I realised I forgot one of the most important questions before I accepted the project - what kind of style are you looking for?
The truth is, I can draw, but if you’re looking for a Disney type of style, then I am not the person to do the job. If you’re looking for a Japanese comic type of style, then I am not your person either. So I kind of got myself in trouble.
And slowly this project became a struggle, and as the deadline was approaching, I got stressed, and I got even slower drawing the book… and I realised
