We're so proud to support the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital 🐨

Ok so I have to be honest — I've been wanting to write this post for a while now because the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital genuinely holds such a special place in our hearts, and I just want to share that with you. 🥹

It all started during the 2020 NSW bushfires. I think a lot of us remember that time — it was heartbreaking to watch. The fires tore through so much of the koala habitat up and down the coast, and the Koala Hospital was right there on the front line, taking in injured and burned little ones and nursing them back to health. The images were devastating, and honestly, I just felt this overwhelming need to do something.

So we donated a few hundred bamboo reusable cups — each one with a little koala design on it — to the hospital. It wasn't a massive gesture in the grand scheme of things, but it was ours, and it felt really good to contribute in the way we know best.

What started as a one-off donation during a really dark time turned into an ongoing relationship that we honestly treasure so much. Since then, we've had the joy of collaborating with the Koala Hospital in a few different ways, and each one has felt like such a privilege.

We've done custom illustrations for them — which, as an illustrator, was just such a dream. Getting to draw these gorgeous animals for a place that's dedicated to keeping them safe and healthy? I mean, come on. How lucky are we.

We've also made tea towels and reusable bags together, and every single time we work on something for the hospital it just fills me with joy. It's one of those collaborations where it doesn't feel like work at all — it just feels right.

We feel really lucky to play even a tiny part in that. Whether it's a cup, a bag, a tea towel, or a little illustration — if it helps the koalas in any way at all, we're in. 🐨💚
