The Story of Rex - the Black Cockatoo

While my in laws embarked on a whirlwind caravan holiday, cruising through the mesmerising landscapes in Australia. they found themselves at the Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre.  Amidst all the beauty of Australia, they decided to lend a helping hand to our avian friends! And here's where the story takes a twist as bold as Rex himself. 

Now, let us introduce you to Rex – This dapper black cockatoo had a bit of a rocky start in life. He had a car accident when he was little but under the care of the Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre, Rex has found his way to be a rockstar of the cockatoo world.

Rex's amazing story has inspired me to create this illustration. What's truly enchanting about art is that it's more than just paint and canvas.
